Work Day

Today is work day, working for the Snuggle Puggle and doing Squirrel Patrol.
Sometimes Mom can be great.
She hung squirrel bait up to help me do my job.
I guess that is to make up for the loss of the sandbox
Nope nobody back here. (if you look closely you will see that Mom has created Ft. Knox here to, no escaping from yard under the fence, she dug chicken wire and concrete under there.)The only time I made it through the fence was when we had Hurricane Charlie, who blew the fence down in the neighbors yard, right where we visit the barking neighbors dogs. Mom made it very secure now, there just was a gap left by the way the neighbors put the fence back up. I have tried, I can't pry it open.

A visitor to the bait, but sadly no squirrelsI will just wait here in the shade and rest now.

I have one of those red birds too! I like him very much. You are doing an awesome job of patrolling the yard. I'm feeling 100% now--so I'm back on duty.

Ah, so the humans are deep into the security work as well. We have the concrete trenches around our fence line too. Sigh.

Good squirrel patrol job!

A pup's work is never done. We're currently on couch patrol to make sure that it doesn't run away.

Sorry that you didn't see any squirrels Kira. I will be happy to send you some of mine - we are overrun with them.

Mom says that when we get a new fence, she's going to do that chicken wire and concrete thing. For now, Dad just has electrified wire along the fence. Can you believe it? We don't get close to the fence anymore.

Kat

PS. Mom says I have to say that we didn't get electric wire until we escaped 7 times in 6 days. So she says we "earned" it. Whatever.

Oooh! Hey, look at that cardinal! I wonder if it's the same guy who was in our yard? If so, I hope he told you "ha roo" for me!

You're doing a great job on patrol! You spotted the neighbor dog and a bird so no squirrel will get past you so might as well nap while you wait!

Hi New Floridian Pals,

We looked up Longwood on the map -- but there are two in Florida. Are you near Orlando? (That's where our human sister lives.) Or in the Panhandle? (Mom does lots of port planning there.)

Then we saw one of our favorite birds in your blog. A Cardinal!!! Our Dogdad is from St. Louis so we are fans of anything that is Cardinal-like, particularly real cardinals and their namesakes, the St. Louis Cardinals.

We love to hear rescue stories. We rescued Just Harry after hurricane Katrina hit Florida in 2005. And Mom and Dogdad say they rescued me...from a pet store in 2002!!! So we're very happy to know about Scampi!!

Wirey sniffs and woofs,

Jake and Just Harry
