Rainy days.....

Not much to do here, it has been raining for over 24 hours.
I played with my stuffy squirrel, not as much fun as the real thing.
More playing....

meanwhile, the psychotic border collie is hiding from the rain and thunder.
Like he can get wet inside the house. ....
He thinks we can't see him?????
Mom feels sorry for him, he is so frightened, she wonders what ever happened to him to cause him this many fears. I just ignore him. I guess it is nap time, nothing else to do here.

Poor little dude. My Grandpa Angus had to take doggie valium because he got so scared when there was bad weather. He would try and go up the chimney! Me? I don't care.

Bet you are a great help Kira, because Scampi sees you and the humans are not scared of the thunder.

And we totally agree on the flavor of real squirrel versus stuffy.

It's hard when one is so scared. We're glad he has you to keep him company.

Many moons ago, when our huMom was a little girl, she had a German Shepherd who was terrified of storms. If no one was at home when the storm came, the dog would go to a neighbors house or would actually claw out the screen door to get inside. We still have clawmarks on a dresser that she jumped on.

poor Scampi!

Has your mom tried putting a snug t-shirt on him during the storms? It's part of my storm protocol and really helps me.

There are many disadvantages to growing older, but some pluses too. My hearing is not what it once was, and the noises from thunderstorms and fireworks don't upset me nearly as much as they used to. So just give it time Scampi!
Or find a bed to hide under.
Hope the weather improves soon. It's dry in here Aberdeen (I think Martha and Bailey are in the wrong bit of Scotland today!)
Cheers, H.

I'm with Scampi! I'm pretty sure that everytime it rains our den is going to flood. Just a thought. ..

Awww, poor Scampi, have you tried Rescue Remedy with him? It helps Phantom sometimes. Or the DAP diffusers are helpful too.

TD loves his stuffy squirrel but he doesn't know any better, we don't think he has ever even seen a real squirrel.

Woos, the OP Pack

Oh poor Scampi! He's just not quite as brave as you are Kira and it's too bad that he gets so scared. It's good he has you and your mom keeping him safe though.

Poor Scampi! I hope he's not too scared.

Hey, I have that same squirrel. You are totally right. It's not as good as the real thing.
