Stressful weekend

I did not have a Happy 4th of July. The next door neighbor started shooting off fireworks right after dinner, and continued through most of the night. Since they were shooting off professional fireworks and the house was shaking. Not good. I barked, whined, then peed on the floor to tell everyone I was not happy. I got a bit upset. Mom had to give me some of the psycho Border collies' Rescue Remedy to calm down.
The rest of Sunday I slept
So did the BC and the cats......
... I do not like fireworks......

Woo, sorry about the fireworks. We were totally safe from them where we live, but Sunday afternoon some bottle rockets were shot off near where we had the Jeep parked. Qannik did not like that, but a little reassuring and a drive away made him feel much better.

Poor pups (and kitties)! At least it is over... Until new year's. Ours weren't too bad. Moose got a worried glazed look during the professional ones and our neighborhood amateurs were far enough away that he was not bothered. Phew!

Essex doesn't like fire works either. Her favorite place is in the back bedroom or right next to dad.

Deacon, could care less.

As for thunder, neither of them give it a second thought.

We Scotties have never seen fireworks - we live too far out in the country, but when Java was a pup, Mom and Dad lived in the city. Java tells us that the lights from the fireworks always frightened him. Aren't you glad they are over?

My darling.....didn't I say you should have stayed on in Scotland for an extra day or so? Mind-you....though we didn't have fireworks we have had lots of thunder...but you'll be used to that, and we could have snuggled :o)
Miss you already....
Lots of smoochy kisses,

Hey Kira.....Rosie here! Ummm....I was wondering.....you know how Petey and I are having a big summer wedding?? Well, as you are Snoop's girlfriend and part of our extended family as well as being a dear friend....would you please be one of my bridesmaids? It means another trip across the pee but you'll get to wear a posh frock and see Snoop again!

You poor thing. We weren't bothered by them too much. In fact, Tucker watched them out the window.

Oh Kira
We are sorry - some people are just so thoughtless. We hate fireworks too although luckily they have never been that close!
We hope you got a good rest and feel better today.

We're glad they're over too. They didn't bother me but I don't like it when the Princess is upset.

Oh Kira my dear, I feel for you, I really do. I used to so hate fireworks - truly terrifying. One of the advantage of old age (in addition to increased wisdom of course) is that you get a little deaf and those big bangs and screeches are no longer so bothersome.
So, something to look forward to!
Cheers, H.

What a shame - Phantom doesn't like them either. He didn't do too badly this year, not sure if there weren't as many around or if the music Mom left on for him helped.

Hope your neighbor moves before the next round of fireworks.

There were lots of fireworks here too. We went to the dog park for an hour in the evening to get away from the noise. Other than that, I spent the night cuddling with Dad, who promised to protect me.

I'm so glad you survived.
