7th Annual Tails on the Trails

Wooos! We are Remote virtual Hikers today for this wonderful event to support this wonderful group.
(since Pennsylvania is a long way to hike from Florida)

Understanding why Huskies are in need of rescuing, for those who love our huskies and those considering one!
(from Tails of the Tundra Siberian Resuce) Siberian Huskies are beautiful, affectionate, active, and intelligent. Yet, they are often misunderstood by people who are not prepared for the very traits they were attracted to in the first place. Many Huskies are commonly found in local animal shelters; there are many reasons why these affectionate dogs end up there. Many are escape artists who are picked up on the streets and are never reunited with their owners. Many owners are not prepared for the energy these dogs have and the exercise they require. Typical huskies are highly intelligent, easily bored, and apt to get into trouble if they don't receive proper obedience training and sufficient exercise. Just like any other breed, huskies are not for every household. Although they can be stubborn and mischievous, they are loyal and loving dogs who enjoy family members of all ages.

Happy Hiking! And hope we get lots of kibble for these doggies!
We are walking today in memory of Star, and Dakota
our blogging friends who are now wooing down, shining their stars on all of us!

I have never heard of this, It sounds like a great idea, we have one husky, Smokes and he is so much fun! He doesn't stop talking. We have always had huskies mixed in with our dogs! They make great family pets!

If we can get our lazy butts up, we will go on a walk for this event, and of course in honor of Star, may she always shine bright.

Somewoone shoulda woo'd me about this before I got one of these! Woo is this breed a gangbuster! But I wouldn't trade her for the world. The difficulties we've had with her have taught us patience and perserverence and made her that much more lovable and valuable to us. (little stinker took off on me today at a doggie event while my GSD came right back...someone eventually caught her leash for me.) I guess its time to get the bigger skillet for her! ;) (kidding!)

Nice hiking you had!
