St. Augustine Ghosts!

On Saturday night Mom and Dad went on a ghost walk!
(Scampi and I were rather tired from our long walkies of the day so we stayed back on the boat.)

There are many haunted places in St. Augustine, Florida. This city is often referred to as the "Ancient City" or as "The Nation's Oldest City". There is good reason too! This is, in all actuality,  the oldest city in the United States of America. Ghost story's, walking history tours and ghost hunters are very popular here.

This is the famous St. Augustine Lighthouse

The St. Augustine Lighthouse is the focus of
a number of extremely popular ghost stories
and is considered by some to be one of the
most haunted locations in the South.
Among the best publicized of these was a
visit by the SciFi Channel's popular program,
Ghost Hunters. During a night in the
lighthouse, the producers of the program
recorded unusual sounds, voices and
strange shadows moving about high up in
the lighthouse.

The Old Jail

Listed on the Florida and National Register of Haunted Places, the Old Jail has been the site of countless supernatural occurrences. Many criminals met their maker here. A shiv in the back or a hangman’s noose ended numerous lives. Visitors to the Old Jail have experienced cold spots, strange odors, loud banging noises, orbs of light and even apparitions.

So today I will leave you with
a Woooooo from me!

It doesn't look too scary, it looks beautiful. I believe in ghosts and my Mother has a ghost or two in her home. It was built somewhere in the the 1730's. Crazy stuff, but I believe it. That's a great picture of on the boat with the pumpkin and ghost behind you. It looks so warm, I'm jealous!

Cool! We have a place like that here in San Diego -- it's the Whaley House in Old Town, which is built on the site of the old gallows. Up the street is an old cemetery that is also supposed to be very haunted.
