Tuesdays with Scampi

Boating! I hate it. It is ok when we leave the boat.Or if it tied to the dock and Mom is sitting with me or petting me on it. and the motor is not running.
It can get really crowded down in the little cabin with the big furry dog stepping on me.
I have learned to open the cabin door to get in and out when I want.
I also learned how to open the back door,
which I discovered was not a "good dog" trick.
I just reached my paws around the slide lock and pull, it opens!
.Mom yelled at me!
Later I found out why when I fell off the back platform waiting for Mom, who was taking forever to get me off the boat when we docked! I fell in the water and Mom laughed at me while I was furiously dog paddling to save my life! I could not believe she laughed! She then reached in and pulled me out. She covered me in towels and dried me off. I also figured out how to slide under the door opening, which is only 6" high!
Mom said something about buying me a new life jacket now.( and maybe a new back door lock?) That sounds nice, I like keeping warm and wearing coats!
Who is a Nauti-dog?

Scampi, what a clever dog you are. Working out those doors by yourself. But maybe a life jacket isn't such a bad idea. We hope Kira didn't laugh at you, too.

It does look squishy in the cabin!
What clever tricks you have learnt, Scampi. :) i am impressed!

My trick is to take tissues out of the tissue box. apparently it's not a good dog trick either! can you believe it?

Love, Bella.

Wow, I bet I wouldn't like boating either. You can't chase after birds or squirrels on it. Be careful of that back door!

Woo! You're a smart little guy, aren't you? Way to figure it all out! I think instead of buying all that new stuff, your mom should just sit by you and rub your tummy and stuff the whole trip. that's what I think.

Dave

You are pretty clever to figure all of that out, Scampi. But better wear that jacket just in case you can't tread water long enough for Mom to come to the rescue. We love that last pic with Miss Kira peeking over the top:)

Wow Scampi, besides being highly intelligent you are also like a Hamster squeezing under the 6" opening. Well done.

Just dont try to herd any Seagulls while the boat is moving.

PS. What brand of life jacket does Kira have? Mom has been looking for a life jacket for me and all she sees on the Ruff Dog site are red and yellow.
