We went to the vet today. On top of having a bladder infection, they think she has Diabetes Insipidus. We are trying her on a new medicine for that, he is also testing her blood levels for the amount of potassium bromide in her to make sure the levels are high enough to control her seizures. For those who do not know she has had seizures for several years and has been on different medications to control them.

Kira is feeling a bit better this afternoon, and she had a little to eat. She usually takes around 24-48 hours to feel like herself again. Thanks for the paws crossed and sibe-vibes!

Thanks for the update - when was that last bladder infection? Just wondering if there is any correlation between the diabetes insipidus and the infection. We had a dog once that the vet suspected the same diabetes insipidus, never confirmed though.

Glad to hear the sweetie is feeling a bit better. You were so wise to get her to the vet quickly.

Woos, the OP Pack

I think that medicine will fix you right up. My Beautiful Raja had to eat special kibbles when she had her UTI. Do you need to do that too?

My next door neighbor dog had diabetes. She got injected every day! Ouch! But it made a HUGE difference in how she felt.

Paws crossed!

Good to hear that Kira is feeling better.

Have you heard of or tried using an ice pack during or right after a seizure? I know of a couple people who do this and they say that it helps.
